I started thinking about a new engine case last night.
For my 2176. I would like to have a magnesium case, unless you can convince me otherwise...
With everything balanced it will have a fair chance I think....

Serrano sells original VW cases, and Rimco does the machining... any thoughts on either of these companies? Should I buy?

Magnesium is at least lighter than Alu. so the freight cost is lower Grin Grin
I like the Mag case, it has the right look! and it has been producing lots of power for the vw people for many years. Power to the people Huh

go magnesium, buy it off the shelf and let it machine nearby you. just bought a case a month or so ago, had it made for 94mm at rimco, and decided later to go for long sleeve century cils... my engine builder (here in belgium) had to re-made the 94mm hole for cils, because of the difference between the cimas and the century cils...
