Hi all

Do we have to have a flywheel guard for turbod cars I've read somewhere if we do its 6mm

that's what I have as well, John is a really good guy to deal with, I couldn't get enough room to use the diaper so have a catch tray instead

Between the chute mount frame and the dry sump scavenge fittings in the case/sump, I had to grind them anyway for room and there was nothing left to fit the diaper between them

Does this (and your) flywheel wrap have an SFI-approval? Our track here in Drachten asks for it...

PS I emailed the makers and this is their eply:

Yes very costly to sfi test, and most of our VW do not run NHRA, A sfi approved unit would sell for $300, $400 us


The BRS series is our main sanction body.

BTW: non-sfi 6.3 approved means no racing at Drachten for these bell-housing blankets...I suspect more tracks will follow this.
Only other option as I see it is to make a 6mm thick (1/4") and 4" wide steel strip around the bell housing. Thats heavy though at the 'wrong' place. Such a pity.

I do have an SFI belt, but it was for the 091 box and doesn't really fit the mendeola so I got one of the FTD belts.

I dug out an old picture and it does have SFI on it, maybe ask Deist about a SFI version for your gearbox

S.F.I. = Sufficient Funds Injected (to NHRA) to qualify for a safety product......... Roll Eyes

Nice to see manufacturers making a quality item though, that blanket looks the goods.
