Hi Guys, My name is Sebastian, I'm 28 years old and from Germany. I would like to show you my 76 bug.

Bought with 18 and drove it the first years original,  due to the small budget  Wink Then lowered it back and front and fitted polished Baby Fuchs rims:

Then finally after some years, the old and lazy 1,6liter engine was removed forever  Grin

That's a nice looking car! Even the lower rear end looks right with the later wings and lights. Tell us more about that engine - looks impressive so far!

Hey Neil, thanks for your feedback.

Engine has 2.332 ccm, 94mm cylinder, 84 stroke, H rods, FK87 cam, straight gears, 48 IDF Weber

I was driving a CSP transmission with a longer fourth gear, really good for 50hp, but no HD side plate, no super diff, no welded syncho hubs, original driving shaft, so sold it...

The new one with 3,44 axle ratio to increase second and close the gap to the third gear, here a comparison between old and new tranny:

Last winter I started to work on the rusty body, Have not expected that removing the jack support is causing such big holes  Shocked

Always good if the previous owner knows how to repair rust holes properly, just welded the new sheet metal over the rusty area  Angry

I built a little helper to keep the car moveable without a gearbox and rear axle:

Really helpfull, with a brake to secure and easy to move in all directions

Hey Rob, yes you're right. That's a Remmele engine, but I do not work for him.

Peter, color is called Panama Brown, of course original and apart from the wings never repainted.

Matthias, thanks. Your bug is also really nice. Red fits a bug so well and looks awesome with the gasburners!

 Just an observation, it looks like you got the pushrod tubes the wrong way round, it looks like the small end is to the head and it should go towards the case, I could be wrong if my eyes deceive me, I haven't got my glasses on Shocked Grin

Who from VW had the brilliant idea to fill the c-pillar with this strange foam keeping the humidity at the bad protected body  Angry

And that's the consequence of the foam inside, when using an angle grinder with a steel brush it looks like a Swiss cheese  Shocked

I did not want  to remove it complelety, thought its gonna be never as smooth as before this angled section. So welded it by pressing a piece of aluminum from the inside against the welding, not to shoot bigger holes in than before

Will be smoothed with some tin / filler later on...
