Cast Iron Distributor rebuild service

I rebuild all the Bosch cast iron (sorry, no aluminum body) distributors, so if you plan on putting your car away for the winter, its a time to get your 50+ year old distributor rebuilt.

In the past 15 years i've restored over 2500 of them. I use genuine Bosch parts and grease in the rebuild and test every one on a calibrated Sun 600 Distributor Tester.


I also have some, NOS tuneup parts or can supply new Bosch/Bremi tuneup parts with your rebuild.

I sent you an email awhile back about a 1966 VW numbered vacuum advance distributor. Did you get it?

If I didn't reply then I didn't get it.

1966 used a 205K vacuum only with an aluminum body. I do not work on them... only the cast iron distributors.

Glen, Not to question you, but what is it about aluminum body distributors that makes you not like working on them?

I have an really like new 050 that I wish I could get checked out for proper functions before using it, just to be sure.

1) The stock ones changed almost every year and every model
2) They have small plastic parts that almost always crack and are not available
3) The steel contact plate often seizes to the aluminum body and can bend when you take them apart.
4) Most often the vacuum canister doesn't work and replacements are not available
5) There's not much of a market for them
6) They are just not as well made as the cast iron. The body can flex at high rpm while the cast iron are rock solid.

I'll rebuild/sell a dozen 010s for every autostick distributor i'm asked about.
