Hi,

Is there a list of the weight of the wheels we use.
I know there is a list of genuine Porsche wheels somewhere on the net.
But how about the aftermarket wheel, steel rims and the rest..

Kind of interesting to know what the lightest wheel is.

My guesstimate

Erco race weight or DDS[ real close], Erco street weight,real BRM[I think 7lbs], Real Gas burner[I think 9.5 lbs] Real fuch [ 20 something lbs ? ]

Maybe someone can add centerlines, bogarts, etc. Don't bother about the fakes or replicas though, they are just to heavy Wink Steels are just as bad

My CMS street weight 6" rear wheels weigh 4 kg and my Bogart 3.5" fronts are 3.6 kg.

I would love to know what the weight of my replica Gas Burners are. They seem really heavy in comparison to my 16" genuine Fuchs. I really want to use the Fuchs but the 16" changes the tyre side wall options meaning there may not be as much give. However the weight saving may help gain that critical tenth or two!

You made me wonder so I did some weighing just now with what I have here

Late 6x15 12 1/4 lbs
5.5x 14  11lbs
and a real gasburner 10lbs not a huge gain

Offset. I guess the wide 5 is a little lighter than 4x130 or 5x130.

Offset. I guess the wide 5 is a little lighter than 4x130 or 5x130.

No they were standard size, had them a while, they are the full inset 3.5" and standard 6" which from memory was 2"/4"

Found another in my sheet doesn't say to which version of the EMPI 5 but I'm assuming a reproduction not one of those fancy 2 piecers.

Wow looking at the details here for the 16" Porsche Fuchs (17lbs-7.71kg & 18lbs 8.16kg) and guessing my gas burner reps are about 22lbs (9.97kg) each means that thats a 5lbs or 2.26 kg saving on each front and 4lbs or 1.81kg each at the back.

So 19.92 lbs or 9.04 kg saving overall although I guess the extra weight of the tyres may negate that saving down?

i couldnt believe how much more a phoenix slick weighed than mh slick ......but phoenix slicks look cooler  Cheesy ... i went for the lighter ones  Roll Eyes

Finally got round to weighing my wheels,
the Porsche Fuchs 16" x 7 with 205/50/16 , 16" x 6 with 205/45/16 both come out at 15kg/33lbs each with the tyres.
The Gas burner reps 15" x 5.5 with 205/65/15 rear comes in at just under 17kg/37.47lbs
the front with 185/60/15 come in at 16.5kg/36.37

1 205/60/15 tyre came in at 8.5kg/18.73lbs

So if I switched to my Fuchs I would save about 4kg/8.81lbs at the rear, 3kg/6.61lbs front total of 7kg/15.43lbs. Probably not a big enough gain to justify the expense, hassle and change in tyre profile?

I know those weights for the 16 x 6's, 7's and 8's are on the Porsche Wheel weights page as 17, 18 and 19 lbs, but a friend on SOC weighed some 16 x 6's and 7's he had and they were only a pound and an ounce or 2 more than the same width 15" Fuchs.  I'm not arguing with or doubting you; only telling you what someone told me. The 15 x 6 and 15 x 7 Fuchs I have weigh in at 12 and almost 13 lbs. Al

If those are the ones I think they are, they are cast aluminum and not light like Centerlines are.

well those are replicas, and I know that they're not the same weight as originals, probably not even close, but I'd still like to know how much do they weight Wink I kinda like those wheels Smiley
