Hi Everyone,
I need to get a couple of sets of Empi 5 spoke center caps and stickers. They're for genuine wheels, but repro caps. It would be helpfull if they're in the UK but not essential, can anyone help?
Cheers David

Hi Jick,
Payment sent.
They're the ones, just need to get the caps now. They look great with the caps fitted, lug nuts and everything.
Did you need to use a spacer to clear the 356B drum?
Cheers David

hey David,
cheers dude!
i'll get them posted in the morning.
no spacer needed to clear the drum, i think its only the torque thrusts that have problems.
cheers...jick

they're only just mocked up... i haven't got them properly assembled yet, and it doesn't seem like they need spacers, although with that info Fabian, i'll make sure i take a really close look at them when i come to torque them up.

An 8mm spacer isn't too bad. I thought the nuts that bolt the wheel halves together caused the problem more than the strengthening webs? I'll try fitting a set up to my 356 drums tomorrow.

whoa! after seeing the back of my split rim empi 8, i thought they were fragile! but the 5's see much more fragile, 1 bolt per spoke, but they are spread far apart, unlike the 8 spoke wheel.

The bolt isn't the reason why the Empi 5's crack. It's because where the back of the wheel fit's to the front, the front has a rectangular cut out with square edges. This produced a stress raiser in the worst possible place, hence they crack across from both sides of each spoke. The early ones quite often cracked (not always thought), but the later version with more strengthening ribs and BRM style lug Top Hats don't crack at all. I'll take some photo's if you like because I've got both versions.
Fabian, I love the wheel and tyre combo on your car, what tyre sizes are you using?
Cheers David

michelin xzx 145/15 at front & bridgestone sf 312 215/65/15 at rear but i would change the rear by an smaller size like 185/70/15 in vredestein classic because i 've a 1200cc engine there isn't a lot of horse power , but i've a lot of donkey power rgd fabian

You still have to use spacers if you run 356B drums too, 8mm sounds about right.
