That's a cool location.  I remember going there for the Jamboree back in the 80s.  We used to stay in the Best Western just across the freeway and walk to the show.

The new location of the OC Fairgrounds will be fine, but to hold it on Saturday?
IMO this is a "miss" for Bugorama Productions and Mr. K as there are a Lot of us who work on Saturday and won't be able to attend.
WHY confilct with the existing schedule of Friday night with the DPK, Sat with OCTO and Sunday to hold the Classic?
It's worked well from the inception, so now they think it'll be better this way?
Maybe I am alone in my thoughts on this change of days.

I must correct myself as I forgot that the ownership of the "VW Classic" changed hands a few years back, no longer under the guidance of originator of the event Rich Kimball.

That would be Vic Wilson.

Sorry Dean. The Classic was begun by Rich and Mike Hornbecker in 1985.   Are you not thinking of the Bug-In?

Maybe there will be TWO weekends of VW fun, 1st weekend for OCTO, DKP Friday or Saturday Cruz night and all the open houses, then the following weekend would be Classic weekend, but, your right about Saturday, some of us have to work, and I'm not missing time and a half pay, LOL!  Grin

Yes, I was way out in left field on that one. Bug-In was on my mind. Sorry!

Two weekends of fun sounds great, if you're a local.

I hope they're able to get everything lined up together for next year.

Good. Glad that it moved. Much closer to home and way nicer temperatures. Not quite as hot and hopefully cars on the grass instead of a lame asphalt parking lot.

don't know where you will find a lot of grass at the fair grounds -- it'll be on asphalt most probably

Jason, I typed incorrectly. I know it's DKP. oops Thanks for pointing out my too quickly typed abbreviation.

Mis-spelled or not, it still doesn't mean that Bugorama Productions took any consideration over thieir changes and how they will effect their event visitiors.

just poking at ya I know it was a simple error...   I think they did consider things and effects it would have on the VW loving public. Let's move ahead move with the event and be happy it's happening at all.

There is a huge grass area. Thats where the Jamboree use to go down in the 80's and early 90's
