The first engine picture up there, I wonder what the specs on that was? Had to be a 40hp base, Okrasa dual ports, PII's... But I wonder what it had inside, what the CR was, the cam, etc.

Before it became the IP2 it was such a cool car, I love how it evolved, even through the vinyl roof and big back window phase. It makes me think, if it ever was found, what day in history do you restore it to?

a T- piece/ pressure regulator prehaps?

i think you can run a quarter mile on the fuel in the float bowls alone.  Wink

also look at the picture of the dash, the first location of the tach has been filled with the riveted square plate (look at KS book for a picture when it was still installed) and afterwards there was one mounted again.

i also see Russell going to the garage to fit a plate on his car  Grin

Yep looks like  a fuel line split to the two carbs, nothing more

and its to far away for Russell to mess with now Shocked

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing Alex Cool

I thought Denzel heads had rectangular exhaust ports like a 356? I could be wrong though...

This also reminds me... The set of 3 early 1950's Ferrari Weber carbs that I bought at the Vegas BOR a few years ago and later sold... They came with some home brew steel manifolds and linkage, so somewhere down the line they were fitted to a VW engine. The old timer I bought them from said that they were on the Inch Pincher, but I kinda rolled my eyes at that one... Could there be any truth to that? I can't remember the exact model, but I do remember they were 38's.

No crank pulley...?

it has a VW steel pulley cut right down to just the thick middle piece, Lightning bug 1 was the same, I did one this way for the LB1 replica period engine, there are more similarities between those engines as well but I guess there would be given what was available then Smiley

so would that be the econo dealership repair bays in the background, or did the racers have their own section or complete other building?
