Finally it is happening.
I now live in the same country as this dragster.
I have collected parts for many years to get it running again.
Original engine from 1978.
This time with a Autorotor to bump up the noise factor.
090 bus automatic transmission.

To begin with, pictures will tell the rest of the story for now.

Edit: I will fix the size problem but not tonight. Sorry.

When it was being built; 1977

No SCC
At the best I will have the car running by end of season August/September.
Then it will only be local south Sweden strip testing on Malmö Raceway.
2015....that is not impossible.

Here is the transmission.

What the engine looks like today.
Prior to being painted and polished.
Mechanically fully renovated.
New Supercharger drive to be added.

Return of the sub 300 kg. "Pank",-Definitely cool !! What nozzle size did Gösta Grubb at "Onaneramera" use on his "spraying device" ?  Grin

E.T.: 6.71 on 1/8 mile (street tyres) at Bug-Run back then ?

Griebel, you got your records right.
Now sub 300 kg will be more like close to 400 kg but double hp.
I think it might be something like 380-400 hp.

It will be a wide dragster. Maybe a bit wider than before but this time 10,5" slicks.
I love my Strange axles. A good feeling to know this part will not give trouble.
40 splines and gun drilled.

Best ET in 1980 was 10.14 and 208 km/h.
372 kg with me in it.
175 hp.
D/D record holder 78-79-80
10.27 and 204 km/h in 1979

Now it should be a bit quciker, but just for the fun feeling.

Hi Fredrik. Aren't you getting a bit old for this  Wink. I will swap you the dragster for a very nice rocking chair and pipe.

But thanks for the offer.

A good friend of mine retired (apparently!  Cheesy) decades ago. He now runs his shop when he feels like it, just a small shed full of old equipment tucked away, still very much in demand by the hotrod crowd (he can still hand cut and bend louvres in bonnets, among other work.........). He's 83.
When he was 77, after 50 years of trying, he finally took his hand-made 32 Coupe to win THE big meet here. He built everything on the car before I was born, and I'm now almost 50. A bigger, nastier engine would go in every few years, and when he took the big trophy a few years ago he was running a 468ci alloy-head motor into the low-8s. This car, still in low-8s spec, is what he now drives through the local traffic to work in his shed............
Coolest read-deal hotrodder in the world I rekn!  Grin

Thanks Griebel!

Never seen any video of that car.
Today I will download a practice tree. He is one car length ahead of me, if he did not redlight.
Very cool for me to see this video.

Nothing like when mockup is showing the angles and relations that have been circulating in the head for very long.
