Thanks guys,

inbetween nappies and all that baby stuff, I managed to trawl through my data logs of the dyno session.  Ive fitted a highspeed air temp sensor this time around and Ive discovered that the regular bosch unit ive been using for ages has been missing loads of info.

the new sensor reads 250 times a second, and boy has it shown up some big flaws in the intercooler, its just not up to the job.

so heres the new one, its just the core, ive got to get the jacket round it for the water and ice but you get the idea...

its as wide as the car will take

Looks like mine, but I keep it air-air of course  Wink
Does it say "Godspeed' on top?

Which part number for the air-sensor Martin if you would be so kind?
I am getting curieus as well if it would show a big difference...

Thanks,
Walter

Thanks! I will try to get one of those too. I have a regular Bosch unit now as well and all seems well regarding IAT, but I too would like to know for sure.

You'll have to up your sample rate on the ECU to read the temp sensor, cant remember how to do it on the DTA, but im sure you can.

its that fast you can see when the throttle plate closes and re opens on the shift.

Ok, thanks for the pointer. Sample rate is easily changed in the log settings in DTA. I have it now at once every 1 second, but can change that to once every 0.1 second which should do as I don't think the air even heats that rapidly  Smiley

Ive got the intercooler mounted in the car now, just the water jacket to do.

the pipework from the intercooler to the throttle bodie is now done, just need purge welding now, and the pipework from the turbo to intercooler is just about done.

Just making the dump valve mounting plate today at work, so by tonight it should be ready to come part for painting and polishing.....

Felt like a snake charmer trying to get the 3" tubing round the cage ect!, and if i bang my head one more time!!!!   Angry Angry  lol

the old woodshed is just waiting on his motor now, the cars just about there. He just got busy riding a push bike for the last few years (whats that all about!) but he's getting proper fired up now to come and race with us.

I'm looking forward to racing russ, mind you we both might mess it up due to us not being able to stop laughing!

I see you've kept the original hand driven starter system for the motor, have you got a billet crank handle for that Martin Grin

Hey Martin,

This thread is great. Last time I saw you, we were at Hockenheim Nitro Olympics with Lee Derby and Jolly Jim. It must have been about 8 years ago now!! Shocked

What size rear tyres are you running?

Look forward to seeing your car Rip later this year..
