Getting stuck into machining the heads....

This one of the heads all set ready to machine.

Mid Machining

After Machining...

To get the geometry correct, i set a valve at half lift with my spring hight tool

I used slips to get the rocker hight set, then I machined the same amount off the bottom of the ali spacer.

How are the new Rocker stands going to be atached to the Head?

They are bolted, by 6off 7/16 unf socket caps, the material they are going into is well over 12mm thick

Why did the Original Stands have to be milled off it seems it would have been stronger the old way? I would think after  A matter of time the Threads will go away for the retaining  Bolts there is a lot of force with all the RPM and Valve Spring Pressure?

I know what your saying, and yes i did look to see if i could use the stands but they were just in the wrong place. I supose if Paradise are going to make any more, then they would incorporate this set up into the head.

As for it failing, we will have to see, i do have a backup plan if this happens. But it envoles a lot of welding and i realy dont want to have to do that.

Not posted for a while,

Got the motor and box all back in, i decided to detail the back half of the chassis seeing as it was mostly all over the floor!

After getting the leads the right way round the motor fired right up, and settled down to a nice idle...

Off to crack a beer, going to put the car out side and leave it running for an hour or so, just to make sure the new rockers are all happy, then off to the rollers next week (hopfully!)

First proper race is at Easter, still more jobs to do, but i feel much closer now.

Sorry its been so long for an update, but after changing the following:
 cam
 valves
 Valve springs
 water pump
 Radiator
and a shit load of work and pain!

we finaly got the car to make power on the dyno!!!!!

regular pump gas, no water injecton running at the moment, fat as you like on the top end 17 deg advance = 500+ hp, this was acheved time after time, the motor staid cool and nothing fell off.

want to make some changes but i'll keep you posted
