New Cal Look wheel?

It's a good looking wheel, but calling a Fuch wheel with some extra holes in it "unique" is a bit of a stretch.
And getting them in 4.5's and 6's might be a bit challenging as well

I think it's a great looking wheel.  The the wheels went on would have to be built and equipped to suit the wheels. As much as I appreciate the traditional / "old school" built cars,  I like the custom possibly modern approaches as well. IMO this wheel is a nod to the old school as well as trying to move it forward a bit.

You can buy Torque thrust style wheels up to 20". Fuchs wheels are as iconic as TT are for us European. It's refreshing to be able to buy a timeless design with a modern twist 
Regarding the price, well, compare with a set of restored early 4.5" and 6" alloys. And you will have wheels that are not seen as often as Fuchs are 

It also raise another question that I have in mind for a while. Does the Cal look style will and/or should evolve in the future. We all know that since the earlies days of Cal look, the style as evolved. Some trends are set in stone like the stance and "the less is more". Some people want to build her car in a certain period style, but what would you do if you wanted to build a modern Cal look with some innovations? 
Should the style evolve with new wheels, new interior design, some body mods? I have subscribe to a few US cars magazine and trends seem to evolve more quickly in this hobby than it seems to do in our.

Take a car build by Pip for instance, imagine a Cal look done this way, got some appeal

This is exactly my thinking as well and Pip's cars are exactly what I mean by moving things forward with new ideas but the some of old school style is still present.

i say YES! otherwise we only would built a white ragtop car with BRM's… there is a group of persons who will hunt down every last bolt and bit to be period correct and that is fine, but more and more for me cal look is hotrodding and this in itself evolves. think EFI, modern turbo's, new rims, different ideas to make an interior… it's not because it was done in the 70's it is therefore always OK, nor are all the new products that come out a big no-no.

Cal look can (and has) evolved. Just like hot rods. But there will always be the traditional versions, and those are my personal favourite.

I'd like to see these wheels on a German Looker of sorts, late model with big brakes shining through.

As for Cal Look evolving, I have always wondered what the Pioneers would be doing now if they were still here, for example would Gene Berg still be using 48's or would he have EFI and a Turbo, therefore would Cal Look have almost evolved into Pro Touring style? Some of the Cal look stuff used now was cutting edge back then, so wouldn't they be using cutting edge now?

Gene Berg pioneered electronic fuel injection in the black car and ran it until it was banned.  Then he went to the larger style IDAs 58mm.  He loved fuel injection.  Don't know if he would have gone turbo or not.

As long as it makes the car better, faster and more reliable, why shouldn't he (we) used them?   

And, how would you call a nice 60's bug, with modern 17" wheels, big'n little tires, the right nose down stance, dechromed and powered by a potent EFI engine mated to a build street and strip gearbox ?
