i started trail fitting and measuring the brackets that need to be welded in and now it looks like the brackets for the mid mount are a bit in the way.

does anyone have pictures of how he has mounted a mid mount bracket on a IRS converted car?

thanks!

Which mid mount are you using? I just did a Berg mid mount on an original IRS pan and the brackets cleared just fine. It shouldn't be too different on an IRS converted set up.

Blurry pic.

Hi Nicolas, I'll get down in the basement tomorrow and take a pic then post it up. Mine as you know is a 64 pan converted to IRS with a berg mid mount.

Cheers

hey, i might have figured out what was 'wrong' on my car. well nothing really, the only problem is that my mid mount bar on the gearbox is not a berg bar…
it is another make and very effective, but designed differently and therefore the brackets were welded in further to the front.

the bracket is L-shaped with the vertical part being the part on the gearbox and the horizontal part is pointed towards the front of the car and it is quite large to accept the rubbers. therefore they are interfering with the brackets i am welding in.

i have cut them out and i will see how i can put it back or i'll have to fab one, like i did on the fastback.

thanks for helping out.
