What's the wind like in a convert at that speed?
Ever stick your hand out?

No idea, always trying to hang on Grin

I really don't notice it in the car at all, doesn't feel like a motorcycle for example

We are going to do some wool testing next time to see how the air is moving around to get a better idea of what's happening

cheers Richie

I`ll bet the next improvement will be to shop of the windscreen  Cheesy Grin

One thing I do regret when building this was not to have the cage built lower so I could use an early screen and frame, it was built off the old car's measurements and I really think it would benefit being lower now, maybe even leaning the screen back a little. To late now

I left the windscreen out of the Fiat as it pretty much doubles the frontal area...a torneau cover next should help with the airflow over the cockpit and it's nice and flat at the back.
But then I'm only planning on 125mphish... but I need all the help I can get with under 2.0lt and no hair dryer etc  Cheesy
It also increases the sensation of speed....have to remember to put my googles on tho'!!

Ian, do me a favour and do a pass with the screen and then one without to see what ET & MPH difference it makes? Ta Grin    If you need a little more help than the tonneau I am sure we could find room for a bottle in their Shocked Cheesy

Oh and buy a proper helmet, googles!!! do you think its the 70s or something?  Wink Grin

Congratulations team YAC and Richie! Amazing to see the slow motion video... looks like your only using 15mm of wheel travel at the back for the entire run! Never seen anything like it! Congrats, hope you catch the sevens soon!

Hi Jon,

your eye sight must be way better than mine, I thought it was 17mm of travel Grin  If I could just figure out the shock sensors and get them to work I could actually tell you correctly, something for the winter.

I am not sure I have approached it in a conventional way, but with only 3 cars that went quicker than this that I know of and all of them having very different set ups there really isn't a path to follow, So I set it up how I think it should be this year, so far it works, and the car behaves how I would expect it to, which as I think you see on the in-car video allows me to be quite relaxed in it now Smiley Cool
Still focusing on the 60ft and 1/8th mile as the MPH shows, so not sure how much progress I will make on the 1/4 mile ET but it will go quicker, that's for sure  Shocked Grin

cheers Richie

That's not so good, hopefully no damage to car or track?  I am hoping its real sticky all the way down as its about 700ft I am having issues with wheelspin at about 140mph!!!!!! Its tricky to catch it at that speed Shocked

No damage to track so far. But my header has been grinding too much.

As i got lined up against a S/C Dragster i was thinking of you, richie!

Unfortunately i missed 2nd gear after the car came down.  Roll Eyes

Otherwise it could have been really close.  Wink
