Great song, Rick. I woke up early Sunday morning and hit my local skatepark with my iPod. Cued up the Suburban Lawns album and enjoyed that along with Agent Orange (random songs from their albums). Made for a great session in the bowl. The music that we had when we were teens still sounds good today. I know this because my sons have been hooked it throughout their childhoods. Good musical talent never dies.

Los Lobos are in! I checked and my "source" was wrong. Also on the bill is James Harmon. Maybe we'll get some Top Jimmy and the Rhythm Pigs with John Doe and Exene like the old days...
This event is gonna ROCK. Been sold out for months. Euros..... these were THE bands to see in the early to mid 80's in Cali. I know I'm old but this stuff still shakes the bones.
On another note I see that ol Fab's has been listening to Psychobilly? All Right my Belgiun Brother! Now were are talking! Punk rock/Rockabilly... how can you ask for more? But seriously young men, listening to some of these depressingly slow girl singer bands..... yikes...shoot me now. I guess ya gotta sleep, what better than bedtime with a hippy and an acoustic guitar? Zzzzzzzzz..... All these new bands, Muse type shite, where are the attitudes? When did it become cool to be a pussy? Why all these metrosexual lame limp wristed bands all of a sudden? Skinny jeans and a shirt one size too small. Hell I hated hair metal but damn I'd rather see some idiot in spandex than friggin skinny jeans.... uh maybe not sorry bout that. ha

I'm off to see The Wildhearts (again!) in April - it's the 20th Anniversary of their debut album "Earth Vs The Wildhearts" and they'll be playing the album from start to finish for the first half of the set, and a fan chosen second half. I've seen them around 25-30 times over the last 20 years, as has my wife, although we've only seen them four or five times together!  If you only buy one album in the whole of 2013, Earth Vs would be my recommendation - I have to say it is my all-time favourite album from my all-time favourite band. Search for them on YouTube, there's plenty of live stuff on there.  |
