Hey folks.
I'm new on this site, but been into Vw's for a while. Whilst having a tidy up recently I came across an old VW publication.
It's an original 'VW owner' focused book from '71. Its like an 'annual' in its layout and style

I've had it for about 13 years and I found it in the back of my first bus.

It features period tuning, period styling - bobbers, cal-lookers, cheesy '70's customs (moustaches and clothes as well), reviwes on Bug-ins etc.

The inside cover is a shot of dozens of cars lined up at (I presume) Sacremento or Carlsbad raceway, ready to go. They're all truly 'old school' - noses down, arses up, various wheels - raders, empi 5's, empi 8's etc. They've all got their trainer white numbers and et's on the windows. They're all running 18 - 21's !! Obviously, not everyone was running 14's in the 70's...  Wink

So I've taken a few photos for those that are interested.

Theres load more stuff in the book, but I thought these would be a nice taster!

I contacted Russell Ritchie, as theres quite a big feature on Iguana - one of his gassers. I think he'll be really chuffed with some of the pictures.  Smiley

Ben - You're right!!  Grin

The guy stood by the bus looks like Dan Ackroyd with a comedy moustache!  Smiley

And yes its a cool book - like I said, it was in the back of my first bus, a one owner from new '68 microbus witha Danbury conversion.

Sadly I never finished the resto and sold it on..  Cry

Sarge is right !
I take this pics of them (with his girlfriend) yesterday afternoon.
I don't like their clother's and hair cut's styles but they like oldschool's spirit.
