very cool photos. i really would like to see more pictures of Klingamans car in street trim, such a beauty.
the pale yellow one is also very well done. looks like it ran 48IDA's as well.
is it just me or are DKP1 and DKP3 more documented as opposed to DKP2?

Look how clean that car is. No hood handle and I like the top tint on front windshield. Wow! Now if he only knew how to park a car? lol Thanks for sharing! Cool

words by Bill Schwimmer
Thanks Stephan, Rick and Brian,
That photo was taken after it left Mark's hands, when Mark built it there were no bumpers,no T bars, nothing. I cannot remember if John Dobson  ( 1st owner after Mark D.) or Dave Zink who bought it from John added the bumpers. The photos probably came from Eric Geisert who was good friends w/ Dave Z.  I was pretty good friends w/ John D. & I worked on it a few times. The assembly & finish on it were awesome. My brother Randy repainted the nose when Dave Z. had it to clear up a bit of road rash. Dave Z. later traded it for a 356 cab sometime in the mid 80's I think it ended up in the San Diego area & I have not seen it since.  It took me a while to remember the plate on it  FASNLOW I am pretty sure thats what it was. Maybe Brian or Rick would verify.  Thanks for the memories    Bill

I personally like the 5 spokes with knock-offs; accounts for a cleaner "look"! Also noticed the 6X9 speakers in the back peeking over the low backs. Very cool car! When I think of cal-look; this car is what its all 'bout! Very nice!

Mark's car was one of the best. It certainly left a big impression on me.

And yeah it looked better with the fully polished Alloys.

Funny how the look changed so much (to me anyway) in just a few years.

That was a time when nothing was already done and many possibilities remained...
