Fuel tank breather/roll over valve
«

My oval got pulled up at scrutineering for having a fuel cap that would leaked If the worst happened and the car rolled over.
I have sealed the cap as suggested but will obviously the tank will need a new breather. What do you guys run, I've seen braided linefrom the filler neck? Also heard something about a one way valve?
Any advice would be awesome, running out of time for drag day!!

the one way valves work but you may still need to fit a coiled tube, as they have know way of knowing if the valve works so you may as well just fit a tube

I did this kind of system to my -59. It has the one way valve and opened filter.

Jo's car has a 2 piece bolt on roll over valve,
http://www.jegs.com/i/JAZ-Products/547/834-006-11/10002/-1?parentProductId=751554
just drill a hole in the filler neck, flatten that area slightly so it will seal and bolt it on, then some -6 hose to exit out underneath, on the old car I welded a -8 fitting on the tank filler neck and used the 1 piece roll over valve that then bolts on to that.

That's what I use on most other stuff now, I think I got a couple of them[ -8] in stock if you are stuck but you need either need a tank fitting like this
http://www.jegs.com/i/JAZ-Products/547/832-108-11/10002/-1?parentProductId=747212
or to have the tank out to get a fitting welded on

Great, thank you guys.
Richie, the 2 piece jegs valve, do you have them in stock?
Will they act as a breather too?
I assume ou just run hose from the fitting with a loop in it to vent under the car?
Lee
Ps, pics would help my tiny mind!

MSA regs require a "roll over valve" in breather lines, I run double breathers with two valves venting into a breather tank, they are mounted vertically for correct function, I fear fire, more so when upside down and seeing stars, so no open tank breathers, running them into a catch/breather tank is a scruteneers delight also.

Haven't got the 2 pieces one sorry, that was a one off as tank was powder coated, yes its a vent until fuel pushes against it and then closes it off, you can do as Spanners says and run hose into a catch can or just vent outside the by the beam

Thanks Richie,
If you have one of the -8 ones in stock, the one requiring the fitting welding on the tank I will take one of those

Looks great lee
Last time Alex welded a fitting to my tank It went off with a real bang and ballooned the tank, I'm sure I can get and extra 1/2 gallon in there now lol

We talked about your tank. When he fired the first tack I was cowering in the corner of the workshop
