Yes. You need all 3 pieces, both halves and the hub.

Don't forget the SHIMS!  Without them (or not enough of them), you'll run the risk of cracking a pulley half.
You should see no more then two threads protruding through the nut when everything is tightened up.  Use
the Porsche nut, too.  I added up the cost... about $95.  An OEM 043 903 109 pulley was past $50 when I
was selling VW parts at the dealer four years ago. Shocked

I've seen a few of the repro ones spin the inner half on the hub, I would weld it to the hub like a VW pulley.

Smaller diameter, spins the fan faster.

The thing I never got was people running a power pulley to gain power by not spinning the fan as fast, then speedin it back up?

I looked at one a while ago as my trigger wheel was made from a power pulley an try are pricey for a top pulley.
eBay USA popped some up now and again

I use the 356 pulley during the hot summer months (it gets 110F+ 43C here in Oregon) and install the full size top pulley when it cools off in the fall. It is a lot easier swapping top pulleys rather than bottom pulleys.

I didn't put one on in the end and it's been fine but its only a 1200, running the ignition off megasquirt... Will find you a pic Smiley

Does anyone know whether the 356 Top Pulley is smaller than a 36hp top pulley?  If yes, am I correct in thinking that I could use a standard size lower pulley (which is smaller than a 36hp lower pulley) with this and still turn my fan at about the same speed?  My reason is that I can't find a 36hp size degree pulley and think this could be a way of achieving it without lowering fan speed.

Thanks- that's an old picture, taken in 2000 or 2001. That was a wretched motor to drive. I hated it, but thanks again.

The belt is a 10x825 made by Continental. I think it took me a few tries to nail down best fit. May not work in everybody's case- so don't go off my word.

As a related question to this topic, I have a stock size Berg Achiever bottom pulley with a 356 generator pulley. A 9.5X905 belt is too large. Anyone know what size belt works with such a set up?

There are different diameter Berg pullys... I just go to the parts store and they'll let me swap belts til I find the one that lets me put all 10 shims in.

Just a idea, Rap some kind of tape around pulley combo in question , cut it and lay it out and measure. Get ya in the ball park . Or a old belt , to short ? cut it and measure how short it is.
