Haha.... Sorry about the Range Rover...
I forgot that I wasn't posting in my "Custom Motor Bodies" thread!

I don't mind if this thread becomes a Custom Motor Bodies thread , and who doesn't love an old Range Rover ? Although personally I would have my Range Rover in 'Hunter Welly Green' !

Progress looks aewsome !

Going around this old thing removing any trace of rust, old paint  & priming as we go...

Various other bits sorted.... Two or three 5pence sized  holes welded up and the usual dents & dings on the front valence all hammered out...

Thanks for the updates James . Great to see the car is as solid as I thought it was !

When do you think you are gonna order the paint ? Still considering a slight change of colour !

Cheers , Rob

No problem dude..... You have time!
Here's some alternative ideas... If it was my car I'd be considering...(Because I've had a few beers..)

a late 80's  early 90's style aqua ?
Porsche Raspberry ( a very brave/drunk choice!)
Bright-ass chrome yellow.... A personal favourite
Porsche aubergine...

The above 80's. /. 90's colour- coded style cal look, but in an anthracite/ mouse / flint grey...

I could go on .... Haha!

I'd go for VW Blue, like Dean Kirstens 67. Never been a huge fan of Sea Blue. I'd go for a slightly earlier build style than Jick is suggesting - mid to late 70s! Check out your old Hot VWs!

James , stop trying to sell me on the colour coded thing , I like 70's Cal Look , the headlight rims will be chrome !  Although I do like chrome yellow ....but not on a bug .

Neil , you read my mind . I never really considered Sea Blue , it is a toss up between VW Blue and VW Indigo . Spent so long studying pictures of Dean's and Tiger's cars . Looking at the colour in different lights ( most of the pictures are in amazing California sunshine ) so its hard to imagine them on a dull overcast day in the UK !

At least I know VW Blue goes well with spun ali rims .

Cheers , Rob

well....super-busy times at the bodyshop but things are progressing on your car Rob.....

since the first round of hi-build primer and guide coat in the last photo's everything has been block-sanded and tweaked where necessary....
re-primed and blocked out again....every little dash piece, two decklids and number plate light housings, all the wings, etc etc.....we've gone over it all with 3M slow degreaser to enable us to check out how straight its looking.....more boring primer shots i'm afraid, but the paint will arrive on Tuesday.......watch this space..
