Now that my new transmission is fitted and I'm about to reinstall the engine I realise that the release bearing that self destructed has damaged the ring on the pressure plate that it should sit against. Is this an issue or should I pull it apart and clean it up?

Thanks...taken it off and will see whether it can be machined (or whether it will get too thin).

I am sure someone on here has one they removed when they went from late model to early model clutches. I know I have one in my tool box but shipping would be stupid from North Carolina , USA to you.

I was given a 'replacement' yesterday. My only trouble now is that the factory manual only told me how to remove the fingers to get this off, so I did only to find that I could have just moved the springs to get it off.  The instructions on resetting the fingers and height in the manual aren't great....!
