Hello, I plan to use aluminium tapered pushrods.. Does anybody have experience which tubes will fit? I run csp tubes now with chromoly pushrods, but with these, i allready see some marks from touching.. I think I read somewhere wbx tubes might work?

Hi Peter,
I run the JPM ally pushrods with Jaycee tubes. Obviously depends on your engine spec but with my setup they fouled the tubes and we had to get the pushrods taper turned down to clear. Still very tight clearances.
I believe the JPM tubes will be a better bet? Cheers Phil

Did you try to move the rockers that touch the tube ? Udo

Hey Udo, i saw they rubbed after taking apart my engine. But the marks are in the middle of the pushrod, i think where the tubes slide into each other. I guess the JPM's are the way to go then

I used these on mine with JPM pushrods. They touched slightly, so I tore a hole in two of them after a while. I could maybe have tweaked them a bit so they'd clear, but didn't really think of it until I saw the leak. Running the CSP for JPM pushrods now - they are expensive - but no leaks yet - and they clear.

Are those stainless tubes the same wide mouth as the #1565? They don't look it in the photos although it's not easy to see properly Cheers Phil

Just measured up some tubes:
Stock VW - ID 19.5mm OD 20.9mm Scat Big mouth - ID 20.7mm OD 22.9mm CB wide mouth ID 22mm, OD 23.65mm Jaycee - ID 22.2mm OD 24.1mm

got a big leak from one side of the motor.. I guess they are not idiot proof will check this WE where its puking from and might order the jpm's

I use them with Fast fab tubes so no reason they cant be used with CSP, but you do have to stretch them on cheers Richi

I have the Jaycee 22.2 to 19 mm tubes but they are very close to touching at the overlap. I looked at the JPM tube description and pictures, but they appear to have the 22 mm section very short, which would still leave the smaller 19 mm section at the widest part of the pushrods. I might try to shorten the 19 mm section of my Jaycee tubes to keep the pushrod waist within the 22.2 mm section as much as possible.

If the markings are on the middle of the rods it is 95% certain resonance, or flex. not necessarily because the PR´s are too small.

X2 -- I think they will handle up to 1/2" pushrods -- Roger Crawford made some killer ones, but I got the last set and Roger has now retired and closed his shop

I gave up on 'adjustable' tubes as they all gave problems at some point, I use genuine VW Wasserboxer tubes reversed, big end to head with stretched on T1 seals , the small end seal goes down into the case beyond the conical seal seat but still produces an oil tight seal, you have to port the head to allow for the big tube end to sit in correctly, a fit and forget trouble free instal and they clear 1/2" push rods, but these tubes are not a cheap part from VW dealers, best results come from only use Elring seals.

Hi , they do . Some work has to be done to cooling fins . They are rather big and dosent clear the fins in a number of places ..

I recently purchased JPM pushrod tubes (made by CSP). The JPM tubes are 23 mm ID in the narrow section, whereas the other tubes are only 19 mm (eg. my former tubes from Jaycee, Scat, etc).
JPM tubes are 27 mm ID in the larger section, although this houses the internal spring, so it works out to ~23 mm for the entire length (i.e. both sections). I’m running 48 x 38 valves and found that the 12 mm dual-taper JPM and Logmech pushrods (I’ve used both) rubbed on the old Jaycee tubes.

I’ve got JPM push rod tubes in my 2276 which has an FK10, 1.4 rockers and aircooled.net dual taper aluminium push rods. Plenty of clearance, not cheap but they fit nice and are bone dry.
