Hello, can someone help me with the differences between a type 1 1600cc crank pulley and a 356/912 crank pulley, other than the pulley diameter and the fact that it's uses a oil seal? Any other differences? Offset? Looking to use one on an up coming build. Thanks.

I have noticed they seem to work better with a shim (available from Berg). They are three piece, two halves and a hub. I recommend welding the inner half to the hub like VW did, I've seen a few of the aftermarket ones wallow out the hole.
I don't know anything about a oil seal?

Yes Zack, same principle. I think it could work well on my 2789cc Pauter cased/jpm head engine. I have to run a small crank pulley to clear the Dailey engineering oil pump.
