As a thought of cars and where'd they go,  what ever happened to Dave Triplett ' s "California Split"?
This was from the OCIR Bug-In days.
A beautiful custom oval with a split window graft. It was a high end car back then, much to the standard of today.  Anybody know?

Dave still owns the Bug In split and over the last few years has embarked upon another restoration with many newer upgrades and is looking to bring it out someday in the not so distant future for its newer look. I am sworn to secrecy.....      : 0...

I knew your photo archive would have photos of Dave's car. Thanks for helping jog my old memory's.
Don, thank you too for sharing that this car still exists and maybe someday soon it'll get to be appreciated by the whole new VW world

I'd love to post some newer photos of my '53 Karmann. However, I built the car in 1976-77, drove it for about 5 months and then stuck the car away in storage. It's not been driven since.
My avatar here shows it as it looks today.
