MD4E Mendeola
with Spool
All Weddle HD wide gears
Cro Mo mainshaft

comes with two sets of gears
1) Currently .. Turbo set of gears 1/2 pro ringed
2) N/A set of gears (high RPM) pro ringed 1 thru 4

Never been raced or fitted since rebuilt for 400BHP turbo motor by John Walklett

£3750 plus shipping.

What will it take to put into full body superbeetle?
Any body mods? Installation kit or DIY?

I believe the starter motor is at 12 o´clock, not at 2 like a VW transmission.

Gearbox is almost exactly 50mm longer front and back than a T1

R&P is a 4.86
Has cromo main shaft .

1st =2.65 2nd =1.68 ..
HD Weddle Turbo 3rd and 4th are 1.14:1 and 0.82:1

Non turbo 3rd and 4th also wide Weddle are 1.30:1 and 0.96:1

It was re - geared for a turbo race motor (I never got around to finishing )by John Walklett a few years ago so never been used. New Weddle gears were imported by John from the states and are wide HD 3rd and 4th. (over £600)
1st to 2nd is pro ring.

Also with this transmission is a set of original wide HD 3rd and 4th for higher revving non turbo motor .. these are pro ring also and will give pro ring change 1st thru 4th.

Mende with a 4.86 R&P is geared for 450bhp turbo and 145mph running on 28”tyres
Max power at 6k – 6,5k shifting 500rpm higher that’s peak at 6.5k – 7k.
