Pushrod tubes for wide engines?

I had leaks from the metal ones originally in my 2332 which Steve had stretched out by rolling the corrugated sections on the lathe to make them longer.
Then I bought the retrofit ones made by CSP. They are the black and aluminum ones that cost an arm and a leg but look good.
Now they are leaking a bit too, and it appears there isn't enough spring pressure because I have a wide engine with the 5.7" rods.
Since I'm not the only one with a wide engine, what has everyone done for pushrod tubes. My motor is not ready to come apart yet, and it's just out for a trans transplant.

I put an extra seal on the tube between spring and inner tube where it goes into outer tube, seals it up better and puts more tension on spring
When I did a 86 stroke with 6inch rods turbo engine I had some longer tubes made up before I learned about the seal trick,
cheers Richie

Thanks Richie, cool idea.
I talked to Jamie at John's bug shop where my car is in Welland, Ontario, and he says these pushrod tubes have the O-rings in the center and not the VW seals.
He thinks he can get some spacers made up that will do the trick. I'll get some pictures after all is done and show you what I ended up with.

A set of 5.4's would do the trick

Yes same as mine, but I still add a seal like this pic, I just mocked that up so you get idea

Thanks for the pic, that makes it clear what you were saying, thanks! I'll send that to Jamie.
Not sure why you'd want to make a narrow motor, maybe to save some labour in motor building?

Why not use the SCAT 20175 Pushrod tubes?
They work well. Not sure about with 5.7" rods.... they certainly work much better than the regular adjustables.

I have a set of Roger Crawford's push rod tubes that he had done for his racing engines -- they are the first set I've had that have not leaked on my 2989

I got some from Logmech.
He told me they can supply longer tubes if required.
Cheers, Nick
