And by the way: nice cars...

I've always believed that Jim Moore's Notch was the quintessential Cal Look T3 for the era.  Clean, well built and fast.  Darrell Baker's Squareback was another personal favorite of mine.  Fabian, can you help me with the pictures?  Thanks.

The graphic type 3 is currently for sale on ebay. A real 80's cal look. I love it:

Wow, that would be a great car to update with fresh paint and interior.....but it would be a shame to sand down such a great graphics job.  Its one of those cars that would be cool to have, yet you would be embarrased to show anyone you had it!  Grin

Now that black panel window square and the blue chopped car would be easy to bring up to date.  Makes you wonder where all thee cool cars went.  Undecided

Fabian, that graphic`d square has been with that dealer for a while now - I enquired about it 2-3 years ago!
I`d have it in a second!

Can`t talk about 80`s T3`s without adding a pic of the orange grail...KS`s former baby which is now sitting in my garage - debut due for EBI 2 Shocked

There was a kid (weren't we all) in El Monte named Nicky who had an early Notchback.  1984 or 1985...........REALLY red with a 2180 built at B & B German Auto (Jim Behrens and Dave Barnes).  Fast car with a lot of street cred in the valley.  He would race just about anybody.  Never made it to a magazine, that I recall, but a real clean car.  I'll try to dig up a picture..........

Then there was a Turbo Notch in Velvet Green that attended the Type 3 Day events.......had four lug Mahles and was pretty clean as well.  Never saw that one have a go, though.

Let's not forget Danny Gabbard's car either.  Right there alongside Jim Moore's for quality.

Here's a rare shot of Bill Schwimmer taking "Pepto" for a ride at Carlsdirt. Cool  I took this shot back in 1984.  Running a little rich... Tongue

That's Garry Henry's (so67vw) old fastback. Garry was one of the founding members of the Las Vegas VW Club and my current club Southern Oregon Volkswagen Club.

Yes! Straight after new paint – note chrome strip round windshield, no door windows and colour-coded eight-spokes. Where did you find the photo?
