again THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH.
this weekend was a blast. i still haven't slept more than 4 hours since i got back from DDD from all the excitement of last weekend and last week. it was too crazy for words. just getting there has been a miracle and making my first passes on the track were so cool (although i had to be satisfied with a 17,51 sec run...) and of course getting the award was mindboggling to say the least.
i have met a lot of people who have been so kind with wisdom and good fun and i have been able to put faces to a lot of people here on the lounge. i only need to get ahold of the french guy from near paris who wore a vison street wear tshirt and was kind enough to help me with some parts for the car. but we should have exchanged emailaddresses, but alas forgot to do so. maybe someone here knows who i am talking about and can get us in contact.
it's been great.
getting home was a little trickyer as the car was running bad on sunday. it didn't accelerate as well as saturday and on the way home i drove the car a constant 90km/h. it was heavily protesting if i hit the trottle on the uphill parts of the trim. but i think that has to do with the carbs and will be dealt with in the near future. that is right after some quality time with my girlfriend and son. speaking of girlfriends, she liked the trophy a lot and it will be hanging in the livingroom, i first suggested right above the bed, but she said that i was pushing my luck there, since i am allready married more to my car as her...
so anyway i have had a lot of good response and now i will work on the details to finish the car a bit more (beading on the fenders needs to be done better, trunkcarpets installed and of course a bigger engine in the end) but like i said above this engine needs a good tuneup and i wil start with that shorly, but i can't stop dreaming of a bigger engine. i never would have thought it would be so much fun to drive a straight line of a quarter mile... but i am hooked and will be going to a lot more events and race whenever possible.
thanks to all of you who made this weekend unforgettable!!! (especially to DAS, DFL, speedwell and the hometown guys with whom i had a great time as well)
