My 67 Cal look build, "US-spec standard"

Hi!
I have been driving my 71 beetle for 2 years now in the Cal look style
Before I turned to the stronger darkside
I was rolling low, like this
I have always liked the US-spec 67 with the upright headlight, even before I got interested in Cal look. Long story short I finally had a 67 standing in the garage. It was a started build that have been standing for a couple of years.
Of course I started to check whats was in all the boxes that came with the car.
It hade some work that hade to be done.
I got a hold of a set of front fender to get the US-spec look.

Time to start the welding
Antenna hole
One of the things I was really sure about is that I want to have the Lucas L-488 turnsignals, so by by original holes
Fixing a bad repair in the front window frame
I did not like the big cut out in the rear apron, great that I had fond a donor car (bought it for the doors)
Fixed, I have also removed the original cutouts
I also had to fix a old repair where they forgot the nut for the running board, thanks donor car.
Some one have been a little wild when the made the rear apron removable
Lets borrow a piece from the donor
Done

Lucas and the cal look tool from IKEA =) 35mm hole cuter
Done, so happy.
Standard, sort of... I will only have the small standard headliner.
Bought a set of aluminium T-bars with the correct angel on front and rear.
Hope you like the start of the project, to be continued...

Thanks!
I have always liked white Typ-1 so my first plan was Lotus White but i think that it's to yellow when i got the sample paint sent to me... So right now I'm thinking about Pastel White L90D, a Typ-2 color that is more grey-white. Sort of a lighter Fontana Grey.
Toga White is also a option, but that is more green... it's hard to decide

Yes that would be great, also if you could take a pic where you compare it so something bright white. My plan is to paint the car before this winter so there is no hurry.

I have done some painting
CB drop spindels, and new wheel cylinders
A friend helped me to replace the ball joints so it was time to get the front end mounted again. Stock width and adjustable.
Nice to have the car down on its own wheels again...
...talking about wheels, I have left my BRM to get some meet mounted on them.
135R15 and 205/70 on 4.5" and 5.5"
the floor have some old repairs, maybe I will fix it in the future but for now I leave it
This is the gearbox that will be going in the car, don't know that mutch about it. I have seen it have a super diff mounted

Not so much action in here =)
but at least I have purchased a set of Talbot Berlin 333 mirrors
Not perfect but a nice price
I have mounted the tires and they look nice, and the short axels on the other gearbox will be great for the fitment
Yeah I forgot, I will use the motor from my 71 in this car. I 1679cc (the first and only engine I have built... so far
) Round Port 044 heads, Scat 1.25 rockers, Scat C35 cam and IDF 40.

Thanks
The linkage is from Logmech a swedish company
http://logmech.se/produkter/forgasare/gasreglage/
I hade to cut out just a bit on my 71 for the filter mount, maybe I will move it to the bumper mount on this car.

I don't know about European upright fenders but I believe that US '67 fenders have the headlights located slightly lower than '68 and later fenders.
VWOA would sell '68+ fenders w/o the bumper slots and punched for horn grilles as a replacement for '67s. The horn grilles were also not in the right location.
Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong
