I have a Weber 44 IDF which I bought a few years ago.  From What I know:
1) It isn't an original Italian manufacture.
2) It isn't a later Spanish manufacture.
3) It doesn't look like a cheap Chinese manufactured item.

It has a manufacture date of August 2005 cast into the top.

The profile of the casting (around the W and Weber logo) is not round as in all the other ones I have seen but is square.

It looks very well manufactured with precision items making the assembly.

Any ideas about the carb - where is was made and why the casting looks very different.
