Been running a set of Scat lash caps for many years.  First time out at the track last night and one broke while shifting into fourth.  It looks like they're cast...is there any other type?  What's a quality brand to replace these?  Stay with Scat or try another?  Thanks.

I had a Scat wear through years ago.

I use G Berg when you could get them. Now I use CB Performance.

99/100 broken lash caps are from loss of valve control,
1/100 are from too tight a fit on the stem.

I have never seen a Scat lash cap that was tight.

Valves are on JPM MS230 heads and the lash caps do fit a bit loose. I just put the engine back together after checking the bearings and replacing valve springs, but perhaps I didn't have the lash correct at that valve. I use loose zero lash with dual-tapered aluminum pushrods.

Why not contact JPM and use the caps he recommends ?  The Berg caps were so tight I had to make a tool to remove them , LOL  . What kind of rocker arms are you using ? Mike McCarthy

Rockers & arms are Scat 1.4's (10 years old), adjusters are CB.  I located some Bugpack lash caps, so I'll use one on that valve.
