6 months of building, finally got to drive the car, set of for the MOT, and the brakes got worse. Then I noticed the rear wheel was half off! The nut has sheared off the axle flush with the hub carrier, T3 drums and I'm now awaiting transporter
Can an axle be changed with the transmission in place?

I had that happen to me doing 75 , the threaded portion of the axle snapped,  wheel came off and rolled into a field. I put brakes on , pedal went to the floor due to it only having a single system master cylinder. bug stopped in middle of a roundabout. Scary.
I changed  the shaft with the box still in.

The side cover going to prevent me from pulling the axle from the car in situ

Still pleased with the way it looked
