Who has built the best, most detailed, purposeful cal looker, whether it be a show car, race car etc.  Randy gates, Dave Rhodes, Bill Schwimmer, Bernard Newbury etc?
For me, Bernies dark lord oval is up there, it may not have been the best detailed car but it is the most purposeful.   There are others, so what's your favourite ?

Obviously a favourite too

Guys you should all be lovin' your own creations. They're the only way ones with your blood, sweat and tears in the build.

Yes but other cars have influenced our builds.

All three of those, plus the Mike Billings '67 and Roger Grago's Ghia.

I always love when this question comes up.... My favorite cars are....

1. Dave Conklin's Cornpanzer
2. Bernard Newbury's Dark Lord
3. Kurt Van Perre's old school Cal looker
4. Wally's '62
5. Roland's '68
+1 Keith Goss' chop top.

Jyrki Launes Jungle Green oval. Looks hardcore!
The rake, rim/tire selection and how the tires positioned to the fender edges are what perfects it to me. And a motor that backs it up.

Also as mentioned above, Cornpanzer, Berglar and Dark Lord (especially with the rims in Jos post above).

Best Cal-Looker - hard question, indeed !

My list:

1.) Greg Brinton '67

2.) Bernard Newbury's Oval:

3.) Keith Goss / K.Seume's topchop (no pics, you know what it is...)

4.) This black '67 featured in Volksworld in '98, with 160bhp 2007ccm engine:

5.) Bill Schwimmer's DKP car, and so on...

Brinton's car influenced my build on a late model from 1970., painted in black, of course.

Mike Smith Red 67

Keith Seume's Flashback when painted black, that car looked hard

Paul Rui Split the one where he buried the BRMs to age them

Jim Ratto's '67, it was the first car that I was able to touch and ride in that has infected me forever with the disease of "less is more, fast, air-cooled."  The old 2275 in that car was the first time I heard straight cuts and 48's.

Or Larry's red '67 with the dual QP's.  Didn't it have some old 1900ish CC stroker in it?  Regardless really cool car, and also influential to my "infection."
