Im building a 1835 with a drawthru turbo weber 45 setup and im trying to figure out what to use for the ignitionsystem, distrubutor and so on. What do u guys use?

Many years ago I stuck a turbo on my 1600 and just wound the distributor back to 24deg total advance. Problem was it was much too far retarded at idle so it was really slow to accelerate.
I read something afterwards in the late lamented VW Trends about bending the stops for the weights inside so it's set as normal but only advances to 24deg.

Of course, I'd already taken it all off by this point and gone back to carbs so no clue if it would actually work!

Go either trigger or a MSD box with MAP compensation.
