Happy days. Lined up against Dave Rhoads in my ''cal looker'' right stance, gas burner wheels, 1776cc ,der-transaxle close ratio box. Only problem was the champagne pink colour  Embarrassed Which Ivan reminded me of at VW action Grin
He must have been dazzled as he broke an axle shaft coming off the line.  Shocked

The biggest bummer that weekend was the pro-turbo cars crashing which made even more annoying as some folk were more interested in watching the European football in the big tent.
I felt so bad for these guys.

I've got that on video somewhere too!
If I remember rightly I'd got my beetle with the '67 lid, long bonnet (and upright wings!), dechromed and painted appliance white, but was still on stock wheels and a lowered rear end. Got home and raised the back end and decided that I'd go racing at some point soon! Took another three years, but I got there!

I remember meeting flatfire and having a right good chat, seem to remember one of your mate running a stateside 2110 in his car and having some trouble with it?
