it's a really cool car, if it were mine I'd change the exhaust and the decklid though

And fill the peashooters Wink

One of the best Ive seen in a very long time though! It looks straight outta the '70's.

I love it!
But why run a monster tach in the speedo hole?

Why do so many people go back to the 70-ies look, but forget about the wicked dashboards of those days?  Roll Eyes
I understand this may be a little off-topic though..

in fact I prefer the non-filled peashooters look, hadn't noticed the monster tach BTW

Whats wrong with that Huh

Sure if you are creating a clone of a car from yesterday but it would be a bit dull if everyone kept recreating the past over and over again.

The great thing about nostalgia is that you get to cherry pick the good bits, forget the bits that you didn’t like and add in some new products that you do.  Its also nice to se something that a little different now and again

Hopefully everyone builds cars for themselves with a bit of their own personality in them. That is reflected in the little differences of the cars they turn out perhaps that’s why this 63 is so well liked ?

just my 2 cents  Wink

of course everyone can build the car to their liking, but I wouldn't rate a monster tach as a very "personal" decision, seeing they are everywhere

anyway don't take me much seriously, I don't have a monster tach but I do have VDO gauges which is not very innovative too  Grin

right, you see monster tachs all over the place.
sure they're functional, and yes i run one as well at the moment.
but i've got some nice plans for my dashboard which i'm hoping to execute once i've finished my engine.

however back in the day, the people's innovativeness wasn't just rescricted to the exterior.
i'm only saying that it's a pity you don't see many nicely done dashboards these days.

i like the overall look of the car!!! it is very well done and the wheels make a great stage as well. so it is multifunctional, but i think the sqauremeter price is bit high  Grin
the only thing i had to look twice at was the colour... maybe not my choice, but it works. what colour is it? is it a porsche or vw colour? and maybe, just maybe fill the exhaustholes that aren't used. but that is just 'mierenneuken'  Grin

what engine is in it btw?

Fabian, did I miss something? Freds 63 is the Cal Looker of the year? Vegards car got also a lot of votes and I think we should keep it fun by not "officially" announcing one or another car as "Looker of the year". Better leave it this way that everybody has a personal Looker of the year, uh?  Wink

That is a cool car.  What a great set of wheels....anyone know where they were sourced from?

One thing about those photos is that it appears that he backed into his parking space and stopped, causing the tires to go positive camber. (I hope so at least, otherwise that would be a handful to drive!)  When I park, I always make sure I pull forward one revolution so that the tires square up properly.   Cool
