3sche, great looking car!

I've been MIA lately..... Mark your 67 is BadASS!!! Awesome choice on the finish.

I'm about ready to send a set to Mr. Reed.

Thanks, Tom. They're Ian's wheels... and he's the one that had 'em done like this. I'm very happy with the outcome.

Hey Fred
Just sent you a text .
Did you hear al & Diane retired ?
Grace and tony , two of the employees , have now set up their own shop in Orange I believe .

Hey guys.  I rolled through 88 pages of pure car porn.  I have been away from the Cal Look scene since the 80's off doing Porsche, Ferrari and BMW but life is a full circle it seems.  I am back with a 1969 KG and bitten by the bug again.

For those that remember the 70' 80's and early 90's in the SoCal craziness, here are 2 of the cars some of the guys from back then may remember.  Good to see our movement is still alive and well 40 years later.

Welcome! I remember seeing Backdraft run a couple of times while out in the USA. Always loved the Ghia, too. Star of the JSC catalog!

The first pic above was VW Trends cover in '83/'84?  I have a copy somewhere but yes, JSC did a lot of bikini car washes in their publications.   And yeah, that's me at the right front wheel looking rather youthful..  LOL, bikini clad models will do that to a kid in his 20's...   Grin

Joe,
I had my 57 oval painted by Pete Santini because of your car.... that Ghia was awesome, I remember it before that paint also back in the day cruising around. He painted the graphics on my pan, same colors as your stripes.

Awesome Larry!  I just was out west a few months ago and went by and spent some time with Pete at the shop.  He's still at it!

Love your oval!

Thought I'd add my '63 onto this thread. Just a warmer over 1600 with 40IDF's, but parts for a 2017 are waiting under the bench. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Beautiful motor for that oval! Mine is destined for a fake old speed look.

We had the first show in almost 2 years, was a blast. (AirMighty Show).
Me and my clubmates Wim and JeePee cars, our other clubmates had a place inside the hanger.
Strong presence of european callook clubs where present.
