Define best ?

Is a 8sec engine that lasts 10 runs 'better' than a 11sec engine that lasts 30 runs ?
Is a builder close by that answers the phone and has teething problems in a build 'better' than a builder far away that has a year waiting list and is hard to contact but puts together a faultless engine ?

Power, reliability, cost, service, location, parts buyer or assembler ?

Different priorities would determine 'best'

I can only recommend who I have used. Matt Keene @Airkraft.
I'm a fussy, almost impossible to please person at times but have been 110% happy with the engine and Matt is a good guy too.

I'm out of touch with the builders in the scene at the moment.

Just looking for feedback.

In my opinion an engine builder who builds an engine in a week isn't good.
A builder that takes his time measuring everything twice = good
A builder that rings the customer with regular updates =good
A builder that  take's pictures of everything.=good
A builder that answers the phone when you ring 1st try=good
I always advise people what parts to buy, then ask them to buy there own parts
so they no I'm not ripping them off.
A builder who gives a guarantee on a strip motor=VERY  good ( As long as the builder fits and tunes it and YOU the owner doesn't change any settings EVER).
I Think JMR gives a 12 month warranty whether its street or strip use. =VERY good.
Teething problems... It happens to everyone.
You could go on and on with this topic.
