Richie, E85 should be readily available both in Oslo and Gardermoen.

So CSP are bringing this out then? Europe has never seen such a big field of cars this fast, it's going to be absolutely nuts! And that's not even taking into account the Saturday night lumberjack contest.

10+ cars are leaving Denmark Friday 15th august - ETA Oslo 1830 (ferry Frederikshavn - Oslo).
Will the gates still be open for entrance when we arrive 20.00 Friday night at the SCC campsite ?
Thanks

Maybe me and Nicolas
But, I'm still hesitating 'cause it is a long trip for my old 1300 engine.

Cool but don't worry about the 1300 I wil have enough tool and parts to cover most situations - I am the MASTER of "Field Repair"

With a hammer, some tape and wire you can do lot's of things
I service the engine last weekend and don't notice something wrong. I put an oil temp gauge and it never exceed 80°. Even on freeway with the hot weather we had this week. So, normally, It should be not a problem to make the trip.
But it is a little bit stressful to go so long with and old car. The biggest trip I did with, is to go to Thenay, France. 1200km on a weekend.
On the other hand, it is a trip that will give some good memories for years

i will be taking out the trans tomorrow and swap it for the shorter ration one and i will be ready!!! you have the long easy cruising trans and you doubt... maybe i am the madman, but the way i look at it is that i want to get there, not rush things, but have a cool trip to go. and i am planning on taking ducttape, so everything can be fixed. did i mention i have a Mac Guyver knive???

I drove nearly 12000km in one summer with my ´58 beetle a couple of years ago without a single problem. With the original 30hp engine!!
In my experience the original engines are MUCH more reliable than the hi-po ones!
So don´t worry, just get in the car and GO!

Ok ok guys
Mc gyver is in da place
(I was a fan when I was younger)
After a bottle of Pastis 51, everything looks to be a good idea
So , why not go take a look in the North?
But, Nico, a short ratio trans for a long trip is not something very comfortable...

I cannot not go to scc!
Really trying to work things out right now, seeing if i could go with Yves in the 68 by the road! We still have to make things ok with our ladies...
Car had it's 1st engine check, it's running great. Going to the dyno on Monday with Pat to tune the engine...

Both hopefully, flights are booked.
But to get into the 10's needs a far better driver than me and seen i dont have one I thought Richie could have a go again seen Ron F was quicker than him at EBI....... But as keith says you need an alam clock to get him going off the line, hes nae the quickest but hes entertaining

There are normal WC`s and a 8 or 10 shower`s there. Pretty ok, and there is a big forrest around the site...practical for us boys
And there is a free car wash area too....

I was up at Gardermoen yesterday to check out the site(again). There´s 270 race teams there this weekend for the European drag racing series!
Track and area is better than ever, Tekken set a new personal best, 9,61 seconds in his green split window beetle!!!
