Drove my car over to my parents tonight for my dad to take it for MOT in the morning. Brakes are woefully bad, one hub gets hot so maybe a collapsed flexi pipe. Certainly need a front tyre changing so we'll just see what else it fails on. Then the 2007 can go in it and I don't have to worry about he slipping clutch on the 1500!

Failed MOT on three tyres,  one back brake not working at all and the other one a bit crap. And a "small patch" of welding. That'll be body mount on the drivers side and rear crossmember / heater channel end plate and battery tray on passenger side then...
Found the tyres, got the back brakes apart (new cylinders and flexis to buy tomorrow) and cut out most of the grot. Treated with rust killer so tomorrow is welding for me and brake building for dad. Re-MOT on Wednesday daytime, motor change Wednesday evening! Shake down on the way to school Thursday and Friday. What could possibly go wrong?

Forgot another fail point - front number plate excessively damaged! Surely that's how it's supposed to be? "It just fell off officer?"

Ron (Fleming) and I plan to be there Sunday. Anyone got any tickets (or pit pass for car – Ron's struggling with his hip and can't walk too far)?

Drivers side welded and back brake rebuilt (cylinder, flexi and solid pipe!), passenger brake stripped and cleaned, floor virtually done, crossmember repair started, heater channel end plate repair to do. MOT now on Thursday! I'm hoping the 1500 can come out on Thursday night - I hate that thing!

I hope so! I won't give up until I run out of time - it may mean that the shake down is on the way to the track on Friday...

Hi Keith, No Pit Passes required, you can drive right up to the strip and get out, there is a large field on the left-hand side after the main toilet block. Park there and you literally only have meters to walk  Smiley

MOT passed at 5:30!

Dad and I are over at the unit working on the 2007 - I'm setting valves and dad is dumpling valve covers for clearance. Header is on but motor is still on the bench.
About to call it a fail and just use the 1500 to get me to the track so at least ive got my car there. I don't want to pull the 1500 out and then not get the 2007 in and working and have to leave the car at home.
