The 'actual street car shoot out' is really cool and deffo my thing!

Great to see you organising this Richie.
Once my car is actually driving - hopefully in a few months - even if it will only be N/A - I'll want to sign up for this 4sure!

Is it a problem if the car is not really cal-look?

This gives me something to aim for too. Actual street, no burnout to try to save a stock gearbox! I'll be using the 2007cc motor that ran 12:50's in Headstraight in my full weight Beetle. Maybe run low 14's?

Its been long enough, time to get your finger out and finish it  Grin

You'll get to meet my new crew man - he doesn't know much about cars, has only been walking a fortnight and can't really follow instructions, but if I train him up right he'll be able to get those small hands down the back of a hot engine with little regard for his own safety...

Hoping to make the journey South, long way South, for the street class, great idea by the way. Does everyone camp the night before, the night after, how does it work?

  thanks,

Excellent Cool If you get it so it has a turbo on it by then can I recommend you fly in your Norwegian tuner to apply boost control for you  Grin

Do you need to have 2 seats fitted for the cruise if running in the "modified" street class?

If you haven't got a second seat, how can you scare take a passenger along?  Wink My niece has called dibs on mine - she's five and loves my car despite having never been driven in it...

I had to give a wry smile when I read the Practical Classics article on Cal-Look, they referred to passenger grab handle on a hot VW as the "FM handle".

Ooh, tough one! My wife has booked a campsite around Stratford upon Avon so her and her sister and the kids will spend the day pottering around the area on Saturday then Wellesbourne market on Sunday. I'll go and join them for tea on Saturday and back to the track on Sunday morning. I think my niece wants to do the Saturday cruise though!
