Popped into WH Smith’s the other day, saw the new issue of ultra, had a flick through and thought the magazine has improved massively
Especially with the red 67!! Absolutely amazing car

But after reading through , it was the last ever issue?!

I hadn’t bought it in a few years, as thought the content and pictures were a bit crappy in recent years ( compaired to when it first started 😎), and probably partly to blame by not buying it, as to why it isn’t being published anymore...

I think the buy out of the publisher by Kelsey Media is what started the problem, especially as they also bought out Volksworld too. No need to publish two magazines for the same market...

Volksworld hasn't been the same since Ivan handed over the editors job to James Peene, but even though I didn't like all the rusty bus crap he put in, at least Peene is a VW guy. Ian Cushway seems like a decent fella but he's a professional magazine editor, not a VW person. Unfortunately, Volksworld has taken a serious nosedive since he took over. Ultra VW was by far the better magazine.

Real shame this is. Volksworld is garbage nowadays (just my opinion) and has been for a while.

Gutted! I kept popping into whsmiths when I am near to see if ultra was worth buying but now I find out it's no more, what a shame
Volksworld seems to be full of low slow patina nowadays that I just don't want to buy a magazine about
