Hi guys,

Thinking about running the oval with no tinware/cooling/charging this year to save a bit of weight. Currently I have a wire going from the starter motor to the alternator. If i remove the alternator, do I just connect this wire to the other lead that connects to it on the alternator?

Sorry, it's late and it's probably an easy answer  Roll Eyes Huh Grin

The big heavy wire from the alternator to the starter will be just removed completely. It's there to charge the system up but if you are running without any "charger" (eg, alternator or gennie) you don't need it. The small wire running to your alternator is for the charging warning light on the speedo/dash, remove it or tuck it to one side, pull the warning globe out.
DON'T connect the small wire on the starter motor to the big wire on the starter motor (just in case when you're really tired you might consider it!)
