I`ve been working on the floor pan so I`ve posted more pictures on the Samba. But I`ll throw some up on here.
It`s been in the body shop for over a year, but that's not unusual...

Craig at Above And Beyond has been doing a lot of the welding before I have the body blasted. Dechromed side trim and dash, filled exhaust cutouts, Full heater delete, Lucas turn signals, no antenna, Clean firewall.... you know, Cal Look.
Meanwhile, I took the pan home and started stripping it in preparation for powder coat. Hopefully soon I`ll take it out to Scott at Metalcraft to again delete the heater, weld new Wolfsburg West pans, reinforce the clutch tube, fit a bigger fuel line with AN fittings, weld trans mid mount brackets on, Fabricate custom seat mounts, and set the shifter back.

Slowly but surely it will get there.

Here`s some of the parts I`ve been collecting...

I had the aftermarket VDO tripmeter rebuilt to match the VDO Series One gauges

Scat made me a set of Pro90 seats with houndstooth inserts

I can`t afford the repro early 911 seats that I really wanted, but I think these will look the part

ARPM alternator stand (Even though I plan on using a generator

Nothing too exciting happening yet. The body is currently in body shop jail. Nothing has been done to the body since I posted the last pictures. I ran into a major snag with the DMV trying to verify the VIN since I don`t have an actual registration from the previous owner. I thought it was fine and the process was underway when suddenly I was told that the whole car needed to be seen in order to verify the VIN. Except I had totally disassembled it by then. And I was unaware that the DMV had entered the car back into the system on my first visit. So registration fees as well as late fees have been piling up. So I had to drag the pan as well as a complete front beam and transaxle to the body shop, assemble them, and have a set of wheels and tires, and a complete engine all under the same roof in order to get it verified. I found a retired hot rod guy that does this to come out and ok it. But I still needed to have a lien put on it since I still didn`t have an old registration. Which took 7 weeks to get done. Now I`m waiting for the verifier to submit his paperwork to the DMV before I can go in and pay all the fees and get it fully registered into my name... which has also been delayed due to Covid19. Anyway, I did some work on the floorpan cleaning it up and removing the old pan halves and fitting new Wolfsburg West halves. I will have a friend help me with the welding and fabrication on the pan once I get the registration sorted out. It`s been very stressful. My plans for the pan are to weld in new halves, make custom seat mounts, brace the clutch tube, put in a bigger fuel line with AN fittings, remove the heater knob and cable outlets, move the shifter back, install mid mount brackets, mount an Odyssey battery and have it all powder coated.
