Hi guys,

Looking for some knowledge here. I see cylinder heads for use on turbo aircooled engines have a large cc volume in the chambers and kind of understand that from a compression ratio point of view.

I've done something silly and started thinking! I have a pair of CB Wedgeport heads, 94 bore that have a 56cc chamber. These are currently on a n/a ida 2276cc motor.

Is there a way of re-working the chamber design to get more CC in them for turbo use? What cc should I aim for?

Thanks,
Lee

Aim for under 9:1. Unshroud intake valves and dish the pistons.  Wink

Thank you.
I know the valves were unshrouded when built so will have to try and gain it elsewhere?

The next best place is dishing the piston which we have talked about a lot on here lately. You don't want to do the easy thing of cutting the chamber semi-hemi, or adding deck by shimming or copper heads gasket.... or do you?
Before my motor was rebuilt as a 2332, it was a 1776 Berg style with 7:1 heads and SH cut. With 15psi the turbo gave that motor such a kick in the pants it was unbelievable and lots of fun to drive! It's still fun now, but before there was no secret that it was a turbo engine  Cheesy
