wow this is one of the best features in a mag covering a build up of a VW motor..................I really wished they would have dug in to the heads and compared them to what was around at that time.  Cool

Those were a very trick set of heads, not only because of port work but also chambers and the coil-style guides. There was another article on the coil-type guides that Clyde was doing. With some more CR that motor would have been a real monster. What a pretty crankshaft.

Hey, Cameron Shorey told me this article had made the lounge. Again way cool. I do rmemeber doing the article with dean christan, and doing the engine story for our race engine, at the time the super street record holder and the first time we had made over 300 horse power in 1992...
