i have thought about a chopped fastback to have that porsche look even more, but it won't work, because of the wings. the porsche has rounder, bulkier fenders that give it a totally different look.
Something like this?

damn, that literally is a porsche roof!
i despise the front of the car, but that roof looks stunning.

still, there is something in this photo that just doesn't fit right...  Undecided

yep that is the one. i saw it in UltraVW when they did something about Japan. and i personally think a type3 fastback is somewhere between a flattened beetle and a raised porsche. if this makes sense... but it is something of it's own alltogether. you don't need to mess with the lines of the car. it is perfect as it is.  Grin

I think that chopped type 3s are ugly, because the lower roofline doesn't improve the overall look. there are no better flowing lines resulting, it just looks like a type 3 with a lower roof. so what? different story on a beetle, though. Flashback e.g. has got a beautiful roof chop. But there are others...

that 311 creation from Japan is, let's say, interesting. Smiley I think its main problem is the front that looks way too heavy for the car. the very low sitting front bumper should be raised. might look better, I tried to photoshop this:

Where's the pic of the T3 that looks like a skateboard?  I've seen it, but can't find it anywhere now.
