Runs with Scissors

« on: November 05, 2007, 20:56:58 pm »

The Southeast USA's biggest show (biggest on the east coast?) is this weekend. Friday night is the Rare & Unique Slam, Sat is BulliBrigade and Sunday is the Bug Jam in Dade City. I doubt there are too many people from here going. I will try to post pics of all three events.

Just got back from the Bug Jam about an hour ago. Had a great time though I didn't make it to Friday night's event. (Left later than planned.) I also didn't get a to drive the '67 down. Maybe next year. The Bulli Brigade show on Sat was cool. I always like this even for the laid back atmosphere. In the past it has been held in the parking lot of a VW dealership in Tampa, but this year they moved it to a new location with lots of grass and shade. Saw some cool buses and neat parts. Sunday we were at the gate at 8:30 and there was a line already formed to get in at 9 am. I was actually a bit disappointed in the swap meet. Not much there to speak of. Only one set of IDAs and they looked a bit suspect. I did see a '67 vert lid but it had a good bit of bondo in it and had some dents so I passed. I did however pick up a NOS '67 sedan decklid for a decent price. A guy from London was there with a bunch of stuff and had it for sale.  I also got a NOS 67 - 68 Florida License plate still in the plastic wrapper that I plan to put on the '67. Some nice cars at the show, but not many Cal-lookers. (Lots of hood rides though  Sad ) Overall I thought the quality of cars was down a bit this year. Here are some pics I took.

Thanks for posting all these cool pictures LouisB!

This one raised some questions for me, are those the Porsche US spec headlights we all want to forget? Looks better on this one than any car I have ever seen.
