I picked up some short axle tubes to run short axles on my 67 bug. I cleaned them up and found scoring on the outer surface of the bell and the inside of the retainer plate.  Are they toast or can they be repaired?

I've run that ish on a street/race car. Just buff it or wet sand it smooth.

As long as you can get the right preload, I would run it.
