How’s the fuel pressure? First time out with my new engine when it had one those small glass fuel filters on it, the filter started plugging up killing the engine. After that it got an oil filter as a gas filter (similar to a 356) and problem solved.

Pressure is OK, initially I had it set too high at high 40s, adjusted it down to 43 and it doesn't move from there while running or stalling. I've an internal pump and aeromotive filter.

Spoke to rr guy again today, hopefully have a slot for me next week. Reckon I'll leave it alone until then, apart from maybe cutting the tip off the silencer box

Check your aeromotive filter.

Check your aeromotive filter.

Why do you suspect the filter? If there were filter problems wouldn't it show on the pressure gauge?

Got to the bottom of the leaning out problem, fuel map was way too low at idle and the start fuel map was keeping it alive until it phased out at 6000 turns.
